John Wheatley College
John Wheatley College strives to provide an excellent and inclusive lifelong learning environment for Glasgow’s East End, Greater Easterhouse and the other communities it serves.
In the last few years the College, its students and staff have won many awards and accolades which highlight the quality of the learning experience that we provide. We are delighted to announce that, in 2007, the College received the Queen’s Anniversary Trust Award for Higher and Further Education, for Community Regeneration Through Innovative Partnership.
The wide range of programmes available at John Wheatley College is designed to meet the needs of learners of all ages and all levels of ability, from introductory tasters to advanced level qualifications. All of our programmes of study include core skills, such as communications, numeracy and ICT, to help you support your learning and classes are available on both a full and part-time basis. For many students, classes will be free of charge or their fees will be highly subsidised – details about finance can be given by the College’s Advice Team.
Some of our programmes are specifically geared towards people who may require Support to Learn and, where appropriate, these can help you move on to more advanced vocational programmes.
The College is linked to networks of Learning Centres throughout our local communities. These enable students to gain access to College facilities near to their own homes. The College has a comprehensive range of support services to help you during your studies, including access to wellstocked libraries, state-of-the-art computing technology and excellent childcare facilities.
