Laura Magill ft. Jun Tzu
I am from the Donegall Road and I have been singing from I was no age. Now where did it all begin? Well, my family all love to sing and I come from a legacy of club and pub singers dating right back to my Great-great Grandad. I was always brought up around people who sang and as a child my voice got me recognised in school as I was always the loudest and most powerful, hence the reasoning behind me bagging the lead roles in school musical productions.
I started singing in local girl group Desire at 16yrs old and we were very popular around Northern Ireland for our covers and dance cover versions of top 40 hits. We even recorded a dance version of christy Moore’s ‘Ride on’ for a local dance radio station. Dance music was big then and I loved it.
As I get older my taste in music is changing all the time and I appreciate all forms of it. I am still singing every week-end around Northern Ireland under the name ‘Vixen’, it’s just me and my friend Jamie singing all sorts of cover versions and we even have wee fan clubs in some of the places we sing. It’s great! I get free chocolate!!
Singing is one of those things that is just a part of my life and I’ll be doing til the day I die. Hopefully my love for music will be passed on to my children and unlike me, they will learn to play a musical instrument. I hope everyone likes my track and enjoys it. It’s a tear jerker! I thank Jun Tzu for his input, he’s a fab guy and a brilliant artist.
