London Urban Collective have written, recorded and filmed a feature length original Hipopera called Inferno, based on Dante’s 14th Century epic poem The Divine Comedy.

The synopsis for Inferno is:

Lost in a gathering storm, Dante searches for the cemetery where his girlfriend Bea is buried, stabbed on her way to a party three weeks ago. With the murderer still at large, Bea’s distraught parents blame Dante for not being there to protect her and refuse his pleas to attend the funeral.

Bea watches Dante’s struggle from Heaven above. Realizing he must discover what happened so he can grieve for her, she instructs Virgil, Dante’s childhood friend, a dead drug dealer with an eye on redemption, to return to Earth and guide Dante through the many allegories of Hell to reach her and the truth about that fateful night…

INFERNO AND “MAKING OF INFERNO” DOCUMENTARY WILL BE AIRED ON COMMUNITY CHANNEL ON SATURDAY 4TH OCTOBER 2008 AT 9PM AND WILL BE REPEATED ON THE CHANNEL IN THE COMING MONTHS.

INFERNO WILL RELEASED ON DVD ALONG WITH THE BRITISH URBAN COLLECTIVE ALBUM IN SPRING 2009.
